Cold Wake (Forensic Challenge Writeup) -- JerseyCTF VI 2026

Once again, JerseyCTF delivered a very entertaining set of challenges. This time I managed to solve all of the forensics challenges, and Cold Wake was especially memorable for me because it was the first one I solved for first blood. I picked this challenge for a write‑up because it does something I always enjoy in CTFs: it keeps a simple idea consistent from beginning to end. Three tapes, three hidden fragments, three different techniques. The challenge never becomes messy, and every step feels connected to the story.

Crack-a-Mateo (Crypto Challenge Writeup) -- JerseyCTF IV 2024

Once again JerseyCTF returns in its IV edition, with a total of 65 challenges so that more than 1600 players in more than 800 teams participated in this event, players of all categories from beginners to experts could enjoy 24 hours of entertainment. I chose this challenge for the write-up because of its simplicity. Many people are unaware that it is possible to create custom unique password candidates based on personal details like birthdays and names, so we must be cautious with the information we share on social networks, and most importantly, we must know how to choose our passwords very well!

Conspiracy Nut (Forensic Challenge Writeup) -- Space Heroes CTF 2023

The FITSEC has once again organized a very fun event, full of many challenges (40) with many players (more than 500) for all levels. Personally, I really enjoyed the Forensic challenges (I managed to do them all) and this challenge in particular seemed very well planned and that it can be used to teach how to carry out a forensic investigation.

Intruder (Misc Challenge Writeup) -- CTF GDG Algiers 2022

The GDG Algiers one of the largest community of developers and tech enthusiasts in Algeria and MENA region, has organized the first edition of the GDG Algiers CTF. Competition started October 7 and finished 48 hours later. It was a very fun and hard CTF, with some medium challenges. Very good infra and support. We chose this misc challenge, because it's a clever way to hide info inside an image.
